Thanks David. So it is clear that you guys have developed your own proprietry tool for this purpose. How can i get this tool and what formalities are involved???MustafaSubject: RE: [Open-discuss] SMS Tool RequiredDate: Wed, 30 May 2007 10:16:58 +0200From: [email protected]: [email protected]; [email protected]

I was thinking about an external monitoring system that can check streaming
Urls at regular intervals and log/alert errors.

That’s pretty much what we do here, we have a tool with a list of
Urls to monitor. The tool cycles every url and opens an

RTSP session to the server. If the RTSP session fails for whatever
reason, such as network timeout or event 404 (stream

not found) it writes to a log and sends an e-mail (eventually to an
e-mail to SMS gateway).

the feeds are down???

Thanks,

How about having the monitoring system to send an SMS when the
feeds are down?

Hello
All,
We have a Helix streaming server which has live feeds coming into it.
(PUSH based for real media and 3gp & PULL based for windows media)

Is there any tool which can send an alert SMS to a configured mobile number
whenever any of the feeds are 'down' from the content provider.

I know that we can observe this from the GUI console but this needs 24x7
monitoring which is not feasible for me.

Please help me out in this.

Thanks and Regards,
  Mustafa
