[Open-discuss] Helix Community Milestone 2

Hello Community Members,

 

The operations team at the Helix Community is in the planning stages for our
next upgrade to the site, Milestone 2.  We have several features we are
considering and we would like input from the community on these items.

 

1. Forums and FAQs

            a. Do you use the current forums and FAQs?

            b. Do you find them helpful?

            c. We are considering integrating the Forums and FAQs into a
Knowledge Base to make it easier to find information.  Pagination, searching
and sticky posts are just a few of the features that are available with a
Knowledge Base.  What other feature would you find helpful?

 

2. CVS Enhancements/Integrations being considered.  What is your opinion on
the following?

            a. LXR  (Linux Cross Reference) 

 

3. RSS Feeds 

            a. Would you be interested in receiving RSS feeds?  

            b. What type of content would be compelling to include in an RSS
feed? 

                 Current ideas:

                        1. Updates to the Home page

                        2. CVS log changes

                        3. Mailing list archive activity

4. Blogs

            a. Would you use a personal blog on the community site, if we
provide the blogging application and service?

 

We appreciate your participation in this exercise.  Stay tuned for more
