I believe there's no such option. If you really want some advice, at least from me, use Ogg Vorbis for audio. You may check Wikipedia, as well as a huge number of other websites for information on this topic. I believe both Helix and Icecast work pretty well with Vorbis. You could also look into Speex if your NPO's interest is more towards speech than raw audio.
