If I recall correctly, SuSE has/is replacing hotplug
with a proprietary version of their own (at least I
read that somewhere in a udev discussion in the
developer logs).  It was either hotplug, or udev both.
 I have never been too impressed with SuSE's
hotplugging to begin with.
