Actually I think some of Creatives MuVo players are "PlaysForSure" 
certified even though they are essentially USB Mass Storage. I think the 
rules for PlaysForSure certification is something like:

1. No special drivers (like for Creatives PDE protocol)
2. Support for Windows Media DRM (named "Janus")

Then there is probably some test suite to pass. This means that MTP and 
USB mass storage is equally good since none need special drivers (under 
XP).

Actually, people running Windows older than WinXP (e.g. Windows 2000 very 
nice for developers) won't be able to use this device either. MTP is only 
supported in WinXP.
