Help with mkv fields

Hi!

I´m doing my final project to finish my studies and it is related with
matroska files. I need to know how i can see all the fields of a mkv file to
extract some information about that file. My project is to do a program in C
language that extract the information about the definition of the video and
audio and the codecs that are needed and some more information...
