Python library/bindings to manipulate MKV metadata ?

Hello,

I would like e.g. to change an mkv audio channel's language programatically
using python, i searched for it but didn't find too much (: is there any
way to do manipulate mkv metadata from python without resorting to wrap
mkvtoolnix binaries ?
