As you (Christian) know, I'm working on a DJing software. The goal is to support many audio format and have a very low latency. And as I told you, the internal API I'm building could be quite easily adapted to a wider application (not sure about video yet, but as long as it's timestamped it could work). So maybe we could merge all efforts so that I can use this new wider "engine" (cross-platform API) and benefit from external work too ! The real-time aspect mentioned by Artem could be a good point here.
