Actually I doubt that the issue is Apple's lack of support for Vorbis and
others. There has always been poor and rich software.

The point is that Apple's business model doesn't provide the openness to
implement better solutions. Looking at all the open source tools Darwin
and ios are built with, this is just an unbounded cheek.

The only way out of this is to improve open source license conditions.
