Just out of curiosity, anyone has numbers as to how much people managed to get out of an arithmetic coder on something like a SPHIT based encoded image? I'm just currious to see how my simple context model holds up to a full blown enthropy coder. The advantage of his method that despite the better modelling (shown by the compression) the computational complexity stays relatively low.
