my /lib/libc-2.5.so shows this (using "nm /lib/libc-2.5.so | grep assert" command line):

000226c0 t __GI___assert_fail
000227f0 t __GI___assert_perror_fail
00022950 T __assert
000226c0 T __assert_fail
000227f0 T __assert_perror_fail

- the "00022950 T __assert" line seems to tell 'assert' is defined.

Is this conclusion correct ?

I see this link:

/lib/libc.so.6 -> libc-2.5.so

- is this good enough or I also need to have /lib/libc.so ?
