An attempt at a K-meleon based installer ...

I've taken another stab at making an HTML-based installer using K-meleon
(see theopencd.zip on FTP).  K-meleon is very configurable, so I was
able to get rid of any unwanted buttons and menu items.  The
'Preferences' menu option was left in so that others can play around,
but this would obviously need to be removed.  It is almost, but not
quite, ready to run off the CD now.  As far as I can see, this is what
remains:

1.  Technical - CD running
After fixing all the paths and stuff, there is one remaining problem; it
tries to write to the pref. files on the CD, which of course it cannot
and stops.  We need to stop it trying to write anything to disk.  We
also need to get it to run .exe files directly.  As far as I can see,
these are the only two remaining technical problems.  The K-Meleon team
should be able to tell us where to start on this.

2.  HTML content.  
Once we have agreed on a few confirmed apps to be included, we can start
writing documentation and help.  We should soon agree on a standard
format for this, including directory structure.

3.  Cosmetics 
The title bar should have our name on it, and when you choose Help from
the menu, you should get up our help page.  Little things like that.  


Instructions:

Download the .zip file and unpack it somewhere on C:\ .  Then run
installer\bin\theopencd.exe.  If this doesn't work, try downloading a
normal copy of K-meleon, install that (and uninstall if you like), then
try again.  It works on my system (win2K), but of course I've already
had K-meleon on the machine, so there is some stuff in my registry.  I'm
curious to hear how others get on with it.
