Some show-stopper bugs. -------------------------------------- Comments on Installation/Uninstallation: N/A -------------------------------------- Notable features(or lack of)/bugs: Bug: Crashes if sound or music is enabled. Ported from Amiga to Windows, DOS and Unix via SDL library. Game has good replay value, improving on points for levels previously completed. A level editor is included. -------------------------------------- Comments Overall: Good puzzle-oriented gameplay. Game overall has a "classic" appeal that may not appeal to everyone. (Soundtrack is a bit beepy) -------------------------------------- Comments on Installation/Uninstallation: No installer. -------------------------------------- Notable features(or lack of)/bugs: I had frequent lockups on my PII Windows 2000 system. Seems to be sound related, game would not crash with sound disabled. Updating the SDL DLLs resolved the problem: Recommend the author update the distro to latest SDL DLLs. -------------------------------------- Learning Curve: Medium. Gameplay can get tricky in later levels. -------------------------------------- Prerequisites: SDL (DLL's included in ZIP) -------------------------------------- Screenshot URLs: http://www.artsoft.org/mirrormagic/screenshots/mainmenu.gif http://www.artsoft.org/mirrormagic/screenshots/playing1.gif http://www.artsoft.org/mirrormagic/screenshots/playing2.gif http://www.artsoft.org/mirrormagic/screenshots/infoscreen.gif http://www.artsoft.org/mirrormagic/screenshots/editor.gif -------------------------------------- <Section 3: Numerical review> -------------------------------------- Documentation: 5 (Gameplay is fairly self-explanatory) -------------------------------------- Ease-of-use: 8 -------------------------------------- Appearance: 8 (Slightly old-fashioned look and feel) -------------------------------------- Stability: 1 (Unless latest SDL DLL's used) -------------------------------------- Kill-Factor: 3 -------------------------------------- --------------020701000103070407020308-- _______________________________________________________________ Don't miss the 2002 Sprint PCS Application Developer's Conference August 25-28 in Las Vegas - http://devcon.sprintpcs.com/adp/index.cfm?source=osdntextlink
