maybe a decade+ old, but still working fine: Extended View. entirely made with 
Pd/GEM:

This solves multiple projector things also with stitching etc... Anyhow doing 
one big screen as fullscreen and using the computers Monitor arrangement 
setting is what I mostly did, on linux a seperate X display for controlling 
the patch.
