yikes. 

if the DMG is the one produced by the CI @ iem, then I'm a bit at a loss on what would have changed...

in the meantime: I know that I can extract DMGs on Linux using "7z" (<https://7-zip.org/>), so you could probably try to use that on macOS as well.
