that does work, quite useful, basically finishes the job. wasn't aware 
of this.

It does change something to edit the third argument, but the window is 
still constricted to the screen width. Maybe trying any of the old 
tck/tk externals like hcs/tkconsole, but would need to find 
documentation on how to work with it. But fortunately, the svg output 
did finished it.
