there was some confusion about the second argument in the `range` message, which sets the range size, not the right index (see (see https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2868 ). so the message syntax is `range <onset> <range>`, not `range <from> <to>`:

this was not well explained in the [text search] help for older pd version and https://github.com/ben-wes/pure-data/commit/588b125c568715404a3d97b37597d6be8da56d0a tried to clarify things a bit - but it might still not match intuitive expectations.
