M3U file descriptions

Is there a way to have xmms display the description of a file as represented in the file list (e.g. via #EXTM3U tags) once the file has started to play,
rather than changing once the file is loaded?

I've got a number of files which don't contain a description, and the
restrictions the OS places on file names prevents me from renaming the file to
display what I'd like the playlist to show. The #EXTM3U tag doesn't have these
restrictions, so I'd prefer to use that.
