hi all. i'm writing an xmms plugin that needs to know the current position (in milliseconds) of the song. it's very sensitive to position, and needs to know the position with high precision. however, i'm having problems with the xmms_remote_get_output_time function. it seems to be returning values at way less than millisecond granularity - if i poll it often, it gets as bad as whole-second granularity. i've observed this with both the eSound and OSS output plugins, but the null and disk writer plugins don't have the problem. there's a more in-depth description (with conditions, etc.) in the forum: http://forum.xmms.org/viewtopic.php?t=538&sid=c711c4858cb5b70c65a1c57b0e84126c if anyone has any ideas on what's causing this, or how i might be able to work around it, i'd appreciate it. (especially if there are any xmms developers out there...hint hint :P). -Ryan ------------------------------- "...real recognize real." -Rakim
