CD Tracks Don't Show Up

Hi,
	I've got linux-2.4.22, and I set up my computer to recognize my
CD-burner using the ide-scsi driver.  I can burn CDs in this
configuration.  I have another kernel which only recognizes the drive as a
reader.  What do I need to configure in the Kernel so that I can burn CDs
as well as see my audio CDs?  I know I must have forgotten to pick
some option.  Thanks.
