xmms-1.2.10 guiless

hi,

I am a big fan of xmms and use it exclusively for all my music playback :)

However I also do some development with php for scheduling applications
and I have been searching for a good command line encoder that has all the
playback features of xmms (crossfade plugin etc) and can encode as well.
Needless to say, there isnt anything that can do this.

I have been working with the excellent noxmms and trying to get the
equally excellent oddcast plugin to work to encode to icecast2. A friend
hacked the gui off oddcast and it works with xmms 1.2.10 no problems.
However it does not work with noxmms because noxmms is built on xmms
1..2.7 and oddcast requires at least 1.2.8.

So...in short, I ahve been working on xmms 1.2.10 to remove the interface.
I can compile the application no problems. It seems to load audio sources,
and when I use xmms-shell i can get feedback. However i cant yet get it to
play(!)....I think i am really close but just no cigar as yet....

Is there anyone on the list that might also be interested in using xmms in
a similar way and could help me solve this last 10%? I ahve the sources
and can put them online with my notes for anyone that might be
interested.
