playing aborts - skips to next song

Has anybody experienced random events of a song playing stops in the
middle somewhere and skips to the next song.  This seems to be random. 
The same song will play completely on other occasions.  When this
happens and I use the controls to go back to that song it aborts at the
same place and skips to the next one.  These are mp3 files.  Thanks for
any help.  BB
