Hi all.
I have a strange problem that I wonder if anyone else has seen. I run
FC3 and a cvs version of xmms - xmms-1.2.10-1.20050118cvs1 (to enable
imms 2). Up till recently, this was fine. last week, however, I upgraded
to kernel 2.6.11-rc4 (Its actually kernel-2.6.10-1.1136 from FC4,
rebuilt for FC3) to fix a radeonfb suspend problem. The problem is xmms
now uses way too much cpu. At least 7%. The weirdest thing though, is
that enabling any General plugins sends the cpu usage for xmms way up,
well over 20%, sometimes up to >90%. I use three plugins beyond the
default: imms-2.0.2a, xosd-xmms 2.2.12 new, & xmms-scrobbler 0.36.
Enabling _any_ of these causes the problem, and disabling all three it
solves it. I could live with 7% cpu usage for xmms, though it still
seems very high, but as it is, it is using way too much. Anyone any
thoughts on this? Is it a hitherto unknown kernel issue perhaps?
PS I am not a coder, just an adventurous user...

Regards,
Derek.
