xmms redirection to stdout

Sorry for this non-developer question, but I did not find the answer
elsewhere.

Is there a way to redirect the sound output of xmms to stdout?
I tried using the diskwriter plugin as output and setting it to
/dev/pts/3, but that did not work.

I would like to use a2play from the bluetooth-alsa project to use xmms
with a stereo headset, i.e., I would like to do something like
	xmms -audioout - | aplay <mybdaddress>

this works for
	mpg123 -ao - | aplay...
but I did not find an option like this for xmms

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
