I think my installation is "Enterprise Architect". AFAIK, the only difference between the distributions is which tools are included but I do not remember updating the compiler so I am not sure why I have a seemingly later build. > I tried the "help->check for updates" button, but it comes > back saying no new updates, and to go to windowsupdate to get > latest OS security patches Yes I always get that as well. > Are you aware of any servicepacks or patches? You could try: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=a3334aed-4803-4495- 8817-c8637ae902dc&displaylang=en It is an MSDN update but is the only thing I applied after my original installation so maybe it had some other updates as well. I am currently downloading the VC toolkit so will try to get things compiling under that. Mark.
