the software tries to locate the datasource and I get the following message:
"Open Office requires a Java runtime environment (jre) to complete this task.
the JRE is defective. Please select another version..." I tried doing this and
it did not work. I can't imagine how any datasource would exist unless open
office creates a default one for the new databsae.

Base is objecting to: jre-6u26-windows-i586.

The above is my current version of java which I can use to compile and run java
programs and to which there have been no other objections. When I try to
reinstall java, I am told the following: You have the recommended Java
installed (Version 6 Update 26).
