Can it be that I wrote a first cut in my patches directory, worked out the change in SRC_DIR, and then submitted the first cut? That seems silly enough to account for the result. For other reasons, I started a full rebuild with my local changes (and encountered exactly the problem you mention), so the working version is gone. I shall start over. Slinking away, Terry.
