MySQL Connector - alive?

Hi, Wondering if anyone has any information at all about the connector? The main extension site is still holding version 1.0.1 from 2009. The qa-upload alpha verson hasn't updated since Jan 2010 Conanical and OpenSUSE are including 1.0.1 in the repositories. So what's up with this, anyone know anything? Thanks Drew
