I was having this same issue using an existing mySQL-odbc connection in Windows. I updated my OpenOffice with the extension MySQL Connector for Open Office.org 1.0, thinking that the issue I am having appeared to be an odbc driver issue I was not having this same problem using OpenOffice 2.4... The problem is when I open a table from the database and try to filter to a specific record to edit it. With both MySQL-odbc connections - existing odbc connection in windows and using the MySQL native connection - it appears that when I 'open' a table I am only getting a 'table view'. When I try to filter to a specific record - I enter: Field name - /fieldname/ Condition - I have tried them all Value - I entered the /value /that I am searching for and click on OK I get the error message 'unknown column '/database.table.fieldname/' in 'where clause' It also displays above the menu bar on the window that is open with the table I am trying to edit: "OpenOffice.org Table Data View" I am not sure if this is actually a odbc sql connection issue, or an open office issue or a setting that I have not been able to find to open the actual table and not just a table view. Any and all suggestions would be MORE than welcome Thank you for your time -- Connie McConnell Database Administrator Unit 2, 23 East Lake Crescent NE Airdrie, Alberta Ph: 403-912-9129 Ext 20 Fax: 403-912-9337
