Table in writer report

I created an application for the selling of books.
I want to create the report for invoices in a separate 
writer document. In this report I would like to format 
the columns of the detail table with different fonts 
and with different styles of frame lines . 
As far as I can see this is not possible with the table control.

Is it possible to use standard writer tables, which can easily
be formatted according to need, and use them for database
detail tables? How can I link table rows to data records?
