Very interestting question:

I trie to do the same thing with HTML coded text.
We need to use the proper import filter (html, rtf ...)after we
exported the datbase-text to a tmpFileor a stream.
it is easy to import this file or stream in a writerdoc.
Problems start with the "Textfields" in Dialogs and Forms whos not
support coded formating, so we must find a solution to show the formated
text in a "space" on a writerdoc or find a way to show this
writer-content in a "window" showed in a dialog or a form.
I hope someone can tel us how to do that :-)
I am looking at a macro who produce a home made FilePicker dialog who
use a similar technique to show pictures an File-thumpnails. in a window
in a Dialog........
