Document Text Fields

While looking through the reference, I can find info on getting and storing=
 text fields in a document in com.sun.star.text.FieldMaster.User, where I c=
an name a text field and save the data.

I don't find anything telling me if there is a limit to how long such a fie=
ld can be.  I think I remember them being unlimited.  Is that correct?  (I =
want to use them for storing notes about a document.)
