 Thanks for sharing this!  Is there a possibility of including a python 
 binary with the next OpenOffice for Mac release that would solve this 
 problem?  My investigations point to this simply not being workable, 
 especially for an Intel Mac.  I haven't read of anyone getting 2.3 
 working on >10.4 Intel anywhere yet.
