problem on configuring

Hello there, 
I made a post on the user forums about this topic but hopefully you can give quicker assistance.

I'm attempting to get everything together to make programming contributions to OOO. However, during the configuration process on this instructional:

I'm using the 2nd configuration sample and the error I get is as follows in the configuration script:

checking for GNU make
configure:5059: result: make
configure:5067: checking the GNU make version
configure:5084: error: failed (make 3.81 need 3.79.1+)

I've tried to look through files to see if it requires the 3.79.1 GNU version to be used so i could substitute 3.81 but no luck. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Another problem i had was with the instmsiA & W.exe files. It says that the OS version is wrong. What should be placed in the $src_root/external/msi then??
