List box construction on XForm

I am currently building a XForm and incorporating a List box, I have followed the instructions on the PDF Chapter 15 Using Forms in Writer, but the list entries I have entered do not not seem to show correctly when testing the XForm.
 
I have followed the instruction entering the choices: "3 Letters";"4 Letters";"5 Letters";"6 Letters";"7 Letters";"8 Letters";"9 Letters" in the list box entries of the properties box.
When I close down the toolbars, the choices just seem to be in the above format when I click the arrow on the list box. When I chose a particular size, all the sizes are shaded in blue and the choice will not show separately in the list box, could you shed some light on where I may be going wrong, or is there an instruction missing, which allows the list box to show the choices as they should show underneath each other correctly.
