OOo 1.9.96 Linux PPC (java) deb format

Hi,

An experimental, but ~fully functionnal version OpenOffice.org 1.9.96 
for Linux PPC will be
available, in .deb format,   at this URL** :

**in ~ 3 hours, because upload actually in progress

As usual, 3 locales are available : de / fr /en-US.  (Ask me for other 
locales)

Everything is installed by default in  /opt/openoffice.org1.9.96, but 
you can install it wherever you want, just using a symlink. For example 
in /usr/local, doing (as root) :

mkdir /usr/local/openoffice.org1.9.96
ln -s /usr/local/openoffice.org1.9.96 /opt/openoffice.org1.9.96

For the install : after you have placed all downloaded files in an empty 
directory (more easy), simply use :

dpkg -i --force-architecture ./*.deb

Note : use --force-architecture option, because output packages are 
called ppc, while Debian expects powerpc...


For the uninstall, just remove recursively :
/opt/openoffice.org1.9.96  (ou /usr/local/openoffice.org )

This version, always "experimental" but ~ fully functionnal, uses the 
IBM Java Runtime Environment , version 1.4.2,
(exactly IBMJava2-ppc-142), you'll find here, after registration :

Because it a bit heavy to obtain this jre, some infos :

Once connected,  the jre to download is :

IBM JRE for 32-bit iSeries/pSeries
Version  142 SR1 (or SR1a, not sure)

tgz format
IBMJava2-JRE-142.ppc.tgz  (41.5MB)

*BE CAREFULL* : I invite you strongly to install this jre in /usr/local, 
excepted if you exactly know what you're doing...
else, the JVM  won't surely not work correctly.

Don't forget to add the following lines too in your /etc/profile file, 
once the JRE installed :

JAVA_HOME="/usr/local/IBMJava2-ppc-142"
PATH="$PATH:/usr/local/IBMJava2-ppc-142/bin:/usr/local/IBMJava2-ppc-142/jre/bin"
# surtout la ligne ci-dessous, sinon cela ne fonctionnera pas
JITC_PROCESSOR_TYPE="6"
export PATH JAVA_HOME JITC_PROCESSOR_TYPE
#  end

Of course, for the one how *don't want* (for some reasons ;-)  )to  use 
a propriatary jre, you can go ahead : it works :-)

Not completely (no database, no wizards), but its less slow (yes, really).


*Testtools is buggy*, thank you to not install it yet.


Last but not least, : if you use *another* that the IBM's one, please 
let me know...
