To honest, I do not know about Tiger and OOo1.1.2. Tiger is very new and
the porting team are working hard to make OOo that will work under
Tiger. While we wait for 2.0 for Macs, you might like to go to
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/ooo-osx_downloads.html and try
NeoOffice. Because it is Java-based you may find it installs easier and
will suffice until 2.0 arrives.
