I don't believe I have ever had this problem, but you are building on a
newer version of the OS and tools than I do. I looked back at your old
EMails - did you ever try setting the MallocHelp environment variable or
look at the crash log to see what was causing the crash? Perhaps you could
try rebuilding the idlc  program manually, perhaps with optimization turned
off (-O0) to see if your problem goes away. I suppose worse case, I could
send you my working copy of idlc, and see if that works for you.
