Hi there,

One of the key issues that I have never received an adequate reply to
from previous submissions is the status and or discussion of a native
amd64 port for linux.

I currently have issues running the 32bit bin and being able to use Java
AT ALL, the java version I have is the native amd64 5 jdk from Sun.
Basically any attempts from the 32bit version of OO to use it result in
horrible crashes.

What is the main obstacle to porting to amd64? Considering there is a
tru64 port in the pipes and that amd's 64bit instruction set has been
adopted in other chipsets (i.e intel) I would have thought that an amd64
native port would be high priority.

Can you please attempt to answer my queries, I have looked over the OO
site for answers to these questions, and I would have thought they would
be discussed in a faq somewhere but can find no references. (Mind you I
can be a bit daft when searching unfamiliar bug databases etc ;-)

Kind regards

Joel W
