Upcoming ICU upgrade: porting patches

Hi,

I'm investigating an upgrade to ICU 3.4 or later for OOoLater. Of the
patches we apply to the ICU I want to get rid of as many as possible.
Currently there are quite a few patches that made its way in due to
porting, most of them old. I plan to start with a plain ICU with almost
no patches applied except where absolutey necessary. Could porters
please download the latest ICU4C 3.4 release candidate
http://sourceforge.net/projects/icu
and build and test it in their environment? If anything fails, please
