dlcompat afaik is only needed for Mac OS X 10.2.x and earlier 
versions. If we want 1.1.5 to run with Jaguar we need to get back 
working dlcompat. In 1.1.4 dlcompat still is in but afaik not 
working. I had volunteers trying to get 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 to compile 
with Jaguar but one after the other switched to Panther and 
currently all Macies from which I know which OS X they are using 
none uses 10.2.x or earlier. 

The rest is similiar to the discussion for 2.0 which baseline to 
use.
