compile error -> syntax error before "void" under Open Office

Under FreeBSD 5.3 using gcc323, I am trying to compile Open Office 1.1.2
and get the following error:

com_sun_star_lib_connections_pipe_PipeConnection.c:558

syntax error before "void"

What's wrong and how do I remedy it, please ?
