TB also has an option for each address book entry (on the Contact tab) for the preference -- Text, 
HTML, or Unknown. For me, at least, the default is Unknown, which means I get a choice when I send 
the message of either or both. I have all the lists set to Text, and I set the others based on what 
they send me.
