Auto save ability with Mac Lion OS

Hi All,
In MACs next release there is a feature which automatically creates a 
backup of a document at regular intervals.
This is not just a save but an actual backup.
Is Open Office setup yet to take advantage of that?
If not can we get that into the pipeline?
