Um, why which?

Why being migrated, or why being combined with users?

 1. The [email protected] and [email protected] are noticed to be r=
ather much of the same nature these days, so it is proposed that the counte=
rpart of both at the Apache OOo Incubator be the single ooo-users@incubator=
.apache.org.  (That was the easy one.)

 2. The retirement here is speculated to happen when the hosting is no long=
er on Oracle-supported infrastructure and the openoffice.org domain(s) are =
hosted on infrastructure supplied by the Apache Software Foundation.
    The Apache OOo Podling has not identified resources by which it can sup=
port so many different lists and support them in the manner that they are s=
upported here.  There are some differences in how governance of services wo=
rks for Apache projects that is also a factor.

There is a longer post that provides the best summary I have been able to p=
ull together to reflect the situation at the Apache OOo Podling at the mome=
nt (2011-09-04).  It is the thread on the users list starting with this mes=

I am interested in any further questions.  I will endeavor to provide follo=
w-up information as the picture solidifies and the prospects for OpenOffice=
.org web site preservation/migration become more concrete.
