Symbols to enlarge view grayed-out

Hi,
can somebody help me?
The symbols (Looking-glass+ and -) and the menu-entries for changing the vi=
ew-size of a document are permanently grayed-out. Deleting and re-inserting=
 didn't change anything.=20
oops?
