Hallo all I installed 2.2 upon my work and home computers yesterday and everything is up and working. I think now is the time to thank everybody involved in development, service, etc. We now have a good word processor, which is really pleasant to use. My personal story is probably that of many. Many years ago (in computer terms), I bought Office 97 and continued moving it from computer to computer each time I changed my computer. Why did I do it? My needs are average and Word 97 had all the functionality that I needed. Why should Microsoft force me to buy something which is far more sophisticated than necessary? To my surprise, when I changed my computer two years ago, I could still install Word 97. However today I can write a document in Word 97, which is compatible with later versions of Word, but cannot read their documents. No problem, Open office does read those documents! It looks like that I can retire my Word 97 and go over to Open office completely. Again many thanks, we do appreciate your work and dedication Chaim Chaim Seymour Head of Cataloging and Classification Wurzweiler Libary Bar-Ilan University Ramat Gan, Israel, 52900 [email protected] Tel: 972-3-5318127, Fax 972-3-7384065 -- Hebrew OpenOffice Mailing List [email protected] To unsubscribe see: http://openoffice.org.il/mailman/listinfo/hebrew
