OK, thanks. On my system, the bug occurs for
FreeSans and FreeMono, but NOT FreeSerif
or any other font. It also happens for these two
fonts in Calc - so it is general OOo, not specific
to Writer.

Can you submit a Debian bug, or do you want
me to submit? I am afraid that your help will
be needed in any case.
