Fist- please respond to the list and not directly to me, so others can
help/learn as well.

As for your specific problem- you will need to give us more information
in order to narrow down the problem beyond "Hebrew support was not
turned on" (as you ruled out that option).
* Which OS are you using?
* which font are you trying to write with?
* What result are you getting, exactly?
* Can you write Hebrew in other applications?
