Due to popular demand, I have added instructions on how to get started on IRC. If you go to the conferences home page now... http://native-lang.openoffice.org/conference/ You will see a link to instructions on how to get started with IRC: http://native-lang.openoffice.org/conference/get-started.html There are many IRC clients. For these instructions I chose Gaim because: * It's probably the easiest to use. * Gaim is cross-platform (it even runs on Solaris!). * It's very mature. * Gaim looks beautiful! :-) * It also understands many other protocols, like AIM, ICQ, MSN and Jabber. So you can just learn one program and use it for everything. * For the security conscious, Gaim also has an OTR plugin: http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/ I would be happy to post either translations of this mini tutorial, or alternate tutorials using different IRC clients.
